The Midnight Sun International School currently employs 18 kindergarten teachers and teachers
We have already financed a three-year teacher training course for three young adults. In return, they have committed to teach at the Midnight Sun School for a further five years after completing their training. Many THANKS to the donors who have made this possible.
The school fees are used to pay the teachers’ salaries, among other things.
Volunteering as a teacher
At the moment Midnight Sun International School has no French teacher, no sports teacher and no music teacher. The teaching staff would be delighted if you would support the school as a volunteer!

I came to Langbinsi with my husband Richard Bindifrim in 2011. He committed to working as a Physician Assistant in the countryside – in our case Langbinsi – for five years due to training at the Prespyterian Church.
At first I found it very difficult to live there as I didn’t speak the language (Mampruli) and was used to life in the city. I only speak English with my husband Richard, as we both come from different tribes and don’t speak the tribal language.
I am a trained kindergarten teacher and teacher. During my first time in Langbinsi, I looked after my son Emanuel. Over time, my desire to return to work and open a kindergarten in Langbinsi matured so that the older children would not have to look after their siblings and could go to school.
My dream was to set up a facility where English is spoken from the very beginning. This would give the children the chance to leave this place later and get a qualified education, for example as a nurse, carer or teacher. I am so happy to be able to teach so many children in this region to read and write.
In the beginning, I had to convince the parents to bring their children, but now 640 children come to us.

I am glad to have gained a new perspective through Midnight Sun International Scholl. There are not many job opportunities here in Langbinsi. My training is still relatively new – it’s my first job as a teacher!
